Iris Nebula

The Iris Nebula (NGC 7023) is 1300 light-years from Willingboro and is approximately 6 light-years across.

The nebula consists of a hot, young star surrounded by dust. Some dust appears blue because it is reflecting the starlight. Other parts of the nebula are reddish because they are converting the infrared radiation from the star into visible light.
